Upcoming iOS8 Update Will Allow Split-Screen Multi-Tasking Feature in iPad

Apple iPad will likely to come up with a split-screen multitasking feature in upcoming iOS8 update. 9to5Mac reported that that knowledgeable sources have revealed that the iPad will soon receive this feature which is almost same as Microsoft's Surface tablets.

According to sources Split screen multitasking will allow iPad users to run and interact with two iPad applications at once. Up until now, each iPad application is only usable individually in a full-screen view.

Similar type of feature called "Snap" is already available in Microsoft's Surface series of tablets. This feature allows users to multiple apps onto the screen for simultaneous usage. The Snap feature is widely popular in organization where users need to handle multiple tasks at a same time.

Microsoft also released an ad which compares multitasking features for the Microsoft Surface tablet & iPad:

iPad's split screen multitasking feature will also allow apps to easily interact with each other. A iPad user may be able to drag content like text, image or videos from one app to another. So now developers could build such iOS apps that can interact with other & share content.

On last day of 2013, Sam Beckett uploaded following video which visualizes this feature as a part of iOS8:
