How to Turn Off Automatic App Updates in iOS?

People download so many apps & games on their iOS devices. These apps update regularly at regular interval of time. Even a small bug fixes can upgrade app to next version. Sometimes, Users don't need to install each & every version.

Most of app platforms provide automatic updates and the default setting for this is always 'On' so, constantly transferring data and updating the apps may cause several issues like phone keeps running & keeps your battery running down a lot faster, your 3G data pack is used quickly and many more.

It is time to rethink about automatic update policy. By turning off automatic app updates on your iOS devices, you may save some battery life & data pack for other important work.

In iOS, You need to simply choose whether you want automatic updates on or off. If on, you can choose whether or not to use your mobile connection to download apps. You don't have option to turn off automatic app updates for individual iOS apps. It is like 'All or Nothing'.

If you want to turn off automatic app updates in your iOS devices then simply follow below given steps:

1. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store.
2. Turn off the green switch next to Updates by just swiping it to left.
3. If you want to automatically update apps, but only when you are connected to a Wi-Fi network, leave updates on and turn off Use Mobile Data instead.
